Halvr is operated by Ed Explore, registered in the Netherlands. These terms govern your use of Halvr at halvr.app and in the Halvr iOS app. By creating an account you agree to them.
Halvr helps two or more people split shared expenses. It reads bank statements you upload, lets you add charges by hand, and works out who owes whom. It records what you tell it. It does not move money, hold funds, or act as a payment service: settling up happens directly between you and the people you share a halvr with.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live. Everyone in a halvr can see the expenses and balances in that halvr, which is the point of it.
Halvr has a free plan and a paid plan at EUR 4.99 per month or EUR 34.99 per year. Paid subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial, and we take no payment until it ends.
One subscription covers a whole halvr. Only the person who created it pays. Everyone they invite gets the same features at no extra cost, and would only need their own plan to run a halvr of their own. Paid features follow the owner, so if ownership of a halvr is transferred, that halvr returns to the free plan until its new owner starts a subscription.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Prices include VAT where it applies.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Subscription in your account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you have already paid for.
If a payment fails, we will tell you and Stripe will retry over roughly two weeks. Your plan ends if it cannot be collected.
Except as set out in these terms or where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refunded. If you cancel, your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for, and that period is not refunded.
One case is more generous than that. If you hand a halvr over to someone else and it was the last halvr you owned, your subscription ends there and then, and an annual plan is refunded for the exact unused remainder of the year.
You have a legal right to change your mind and cancel a subscription within 14 days of taking it out, without giving a reason. Tell us at the address below, or simply cancel in your account settings within those 14 days.
We will refund what you have paid without undue delay and within 14 days of being told. If you used the paid features during that period, we may keep an amount in proportion to what you used. In practice a subscription usually costs you nothing here, because the first 14 days are a free trial.
If you ever subscribe through Apple, Apple takes the payment and Apple's terms on billing, renewal and refunds apply instead of this section.
Your statements, expenses and settlement history remain yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Halvr for you. We do not sell them. How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Do not use Halvr to break the law, upload data you have no right to, attempt to access other people's accounts, or disrupt the service. We may suspend an account that does.
Halvr calculates balances from what is entered into it. Those figures are a record of your own arrangement, not financial, tax or legal advice, and you remain responsible for checking them. We aim to keep the service available and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error free.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer.
You can stop using Halvr and ask us to delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for how deletion works. We may end or suspend an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless we are barred from doing so.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will give reasonable notice, and continuing to use Halvr after it takes effect means you accept it.
Dutch law applies. As a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings there. You may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
